History: Ralph Jackson was a free spirit with a devil may care attitude. He was also born a mutant. He came to terms with that fact during his teen years when his powers first emerged. While in high school, he found out that he could paralyze someone with a mere touch. It was funny at first but he learned that it could be dangerous as well. Being different in high school didn't often win many friends. Hoping to avoid being labeled a freak, Jackson decided not to demonstrate his inborn abilities in front of others.

As an adult, Ralph Jackson was a bit of a drifter. He never stayed in a job for very long and bounced from place to place. He longed for a chance to use his powers without retaliation. However, he knew that most of society wasn't ready to accept a mutant with superhuman powers. This prompted him to enter the ranks of costumed super-heroes. He created the persona of Stunner and decided that fighting crime in secret was better than completely suppressing his true nature.

Stunner's association with the Protectors got off to a rocky start. As a demonstration of his power, he paralyzed Cyborg. This didn't exactly endear himself to the group but they reluctantly accepted him as a member-in-training. After Stunner had earned the team's trust, he was elevated to full member status. Stunner was with the Protectors when they went back in time to stop a solar flare and avert a catastrophe on Earth. They were actually tricked by Kang the Conqueror to do his bidding. Immortus alerted the Protectors to the ruse and sent them to the Omega Dimension to undo the damage. In an attempt to retrieve the chronatron device, Stunner was killed in combat by the champion of the Eternal Fortress.
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 190 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Strength Level: Stunner possessed the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engaged in intensive regular exercise.
Known superhuman powers: Stunner's touch was capable of paralyzing most living things. Only those with enhanced abilities could usually withstand its effects. It was more of a curse than a blessing. Stunner had no way to turn off this power and it was always in effect. His mutant nature also gave him control over sonic energy and the dimensional Darkforce energy. He chose to manipulate those energies quite infrequently.
Abilities: Stunner was very agile and coordinated. He could perform various impressive acrobatic maneuvers. He was skilled at sports and was a successful football quarterback and baseball pitcher in high school. He was just as adept at hurling weapons like knives and throwing stars.
Weapons: Stunner used a blaster pistol for ranged combat to complement his paralyzing touch for up-close attacks. His pistol was far beyond a normal firearm or concussion pistol in destructive power. It was probably closer to a laser cannon in overall firepower. Stunner never revealed if he built the blaster pistol himself or obtained it from another source.
