History: Tsunami was born near Portland, Oregon. It was not until his teen years that he discovered his mutant abilities. At the age of 13, he began to realize that he had limited control of water. When he entered the Air Force at age 18, he could easily manipulate water. He also had incredible recuperative powers and could heal at an incredible rate. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, he kept his true nature a secret. He only trusted one person enough to share information about his powers with him. That person was his commanding officer, Robert Grant. Grant was very understanding and he continues to keep in touch with Frank Morgan to this day.

After serving six years, Morgan started piloting high altitude test flights. After a short time, he started to develop more mutant powers—his wings and incredible strength. Because of his mutated form, he was ridiculed and made to feel like a freak by his fellow officers. So after serving out his term, he retired to the seclusion of his Oregon home. Here, away from society, he developed his mutant powers and learned to use his newly formed wings. Approximately one year later, he realized that his powers could be used for a greater cause. He tried to join the X-Men but was refused. Undiscouraged, he went to New York to fight crime by himself. Only a few days later, he met three other super-heroes during a major disturbance: Blast, Cyborg, and Firephase. Together, they formed a super-hero team that they named the Protectors.

For the original Protectors, Tsunami was the muscle of the group. He frequently took on the group's toughest foes in hand to hand combat. Unfortunately, his days as a brawler were shortened by a series of critical injuries. While in Canada, the Protectors fought some dangerous opponents, including a number of synthetic Hulks. After one such grueling combat, Tsunami was injured and weakened. He bravely fought more synthetic Hulks in a subsequent battle. That time, Tsunami's injuries were near fatal. He was rushed to the hospital in time to save his life. The blood loss was significant, however, and he suffered permanent disability. His strength was still extremely impressive by normal standards but far from his previous superhuman peak.

Tsunami was with the Protectors when they were aboard the Leader's space station. After he returned to Earth, Tsunami noticed that he was more agile than ever before. The Leader's gamma ray treatment must have enhanced his mutant abilities. Despite his improved quickness, Tsunami's failing strength prompted him to retire from the Protectors.

After a long hiatus, Tsunami reunited with his old team when the Protectors faced the Leader again. The Leader posed a threat to the entire Earth with his space-based weaponry. Tsunami aided the Protectors as they defeated the Leader once more. Recently, Tsunami's superhuman strength has showed signs of returning. Inspired by his improving abilities, Tsunami agreed to join the new Protectors alongside Blast, Cyborg, Dr. Darkforce and Firephase. The original line-up was back together again.
