History: Out of all of the Protectors and their associates, the Faun is certainly the most enigmatic. He comes from a world outside of our galaxy, perhaps even another dimension or universe. With horns, furry legs, and a short tail, he looks something like half-man and half-goat. Brought to Earth by a space-time warp or dimensional rift, he found himself exiled on a world quite different from his own. Extremely intelligent, he quickly learned the basics of the English language. He realized that his appearance and superhuman abilities would make integration into society difficult. Therefore, he sought out the Protectors, a group of individuals with powers and backgrounds outside the norm. They recognized that his keen mind and unique perspective as an offworlder could prove a valuable asset. Based on his resemblance to a creature from mythology, they called him the Faun.

The Faun became an associate of the Protectors but was with them only briefly. He was captured in the trap set for the group by the evil genius Arcade. The psychotic assassin had created Murderworld, an amusement park deathtrap customized to execute the Protectors. The Faun and the rest of the Protectors escaped Arcade's murderous scheme. After escaping, they confronted Arcade and killed him in combat.

Arcade's dangers were only the beginning, however. Soon, the Protectors were fighting Trapster, the Wizard, and Blastaar, the Living Bomb-Burst. Blastaar sought to travel to Earth from the Negative Zone through a portal. The Protectors defeated these formidable opponents and sent Blastaar back to the Negative Zone.

The Faun severed ties with the Protectors and did not share his reasons for leaving with his new friends. The Protectors suspected that Blastaar's appearance around the time of the Faun's arrival was not a coincidence. Perhaps Blastaar was hunting the Faun across universes for some purpose. They may never know the truth. The Faun's whereabouts are currently unknown.
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 120 lbs.

Hair: Black
Strength Level: The Faun possesses the equivalent strength of a human male of his age, height, and build who engages in minimal exercise.
Known superhuman powers: The Faun is able to jump great distances by human standards. He can leap up to 40 feet in a high jump or broad jump. He can also jump down as much as 75 feet without injury. The Faun is able to generate energy and project it from his body in the form of a missile. The missile may knock down or stun an opponent with its force.
Limitations: The Faun once offhandedly mentioned experiencing an allergic reaction to an Earth metal. Apparently, it weakened him and negated his powers for some time before he recovered. He did not specify which particular metal caused the reaction.
Abilities: The Faun is extremely agile and limber. With his extreme quickness and flexibility, his acrobatic moves make him very difficult to hit in combat. The Faun is proficient with many weapons that are common on his home world. Some are similar to traditional weapons used by oriental cultures on Earth: katanas, sais, and shuriken.
